After an article of his was purchased by Esquire magazine, he began to take writing more seriously. Leon Uris (Baltimore, 3 de agosto de 1924-21 de junio de 2003) fue un novelista estadounidense de origen judío. Hijo de inmigrantes polacos, estudió en Norfolk y Baltimore pero nunca se graduó.
